Our Beliefs

We think it is only right that those who may have an interest in visiting us, that they would know something about our beliefs, given that there a diversity of persuasions among professing followers of Christ. Below are listed only some of our convictions that we hope will help you.

We believe that there is one true, living God, who created the universe and all that is therein, in six literal days. He is revealed in the Godhead as God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, and is Sovereign in all things, including the salvation of men.

We believe that Jesus Christ is God’s Son, and that His primary purpose in coming to earth was to save sinners by His death, and all that the Father has given to Him will come to Him in faith. The salvation of all who come to Christ is only by grace through faith.

We believe that when Jesus Christ was on the earth, He established the first church that was local and visible.

We believe that the church is autonomous and answers only to her head, Jesus Christ.

We believe that the number one purpose of the church is to preach the gospel, baptize those who believe, and teach those that are added to the church all the commands of Christ.

We believe the two pictorial ordinances the Lord gave His churches to observe are Baptism and the Lords supper. Baptism is for believers only, and is a prerequisite to church membership. The Lords supper is to be administered only to the members in good standing of the church where the supper is observed.

We believe that the only two offices in the church are that of pastor and deacon, both of which are filled only by men who meet the scriptural qualifications listed in I Timothy 3.

We believe the return of Christ to this earth is Premillennial; that is, He comes back before the thousand-year reign is established.

We believe and only use the King James Version of the Bible.

We believe that tongues and the other sign gifts ended with the completion of the scripture.

We believe that Satan is a person and that he is the number one adversary of the children of God.

We believe that the only scriptural marriage is between one man and one woman.
